International Karate Kyokushinkaikan
Established in 1996 by Shihan Paul Sarginson, International Karate Kyokushinkaikan (IKK) is one of the leading Kyokushin Karate and Martial Arts Organisations in the UK.
The IKK prides itself on the delivering the highest standard of karate and martial arts instruction. We aim to provide the training and experience for all students regardless of age or ability. The IKK supports both students and clubs encouraging them to reach their goals. The classes are traditional, disciplined and serious with a very positive attitude towards the student, but are also fun, friendly and enjoyable.
The IKK gives all students and instructors as many opportunities as possible in their Martial Arts journey, supporting member clubs with IKK events such as;
- Knockdown Tournaments (full contact fighting, twice yearly)
- Clicker Tournaments (points based non contact fighting, twice yearly)
- Kata Competitions (individual technique competition)
- The popular yearly IKK summer camp
- Brown & Black belt courses
- Guest seminars, including Self Defense and Bunkai (practical application)
- Beach Training
- Local displays
The classes are structured following a Kyokushin grading syllabus. They are very practical incorporating all aspects of Karate and Martial Arts including self defence, kata, karate techniques, fitness and stamina, flexibility, awareness and confidence building, earning coloured belts, bag work, non-contact karate sparring, full-contact karate sparring and kick boxing, making this a complete Martial Art for everyone.
International Karate Kyokushinkaikan’s doors are always open to new clubs and individual students. As a Governing Body, the range of martial arts supported by IKK is constantly growing. Within this site you will get a chance to learn more about each club that calls the IKK home, and learn more about the Organisation as a whole.
